“As to the quantity, our national ship plate supply has basically met the demand, but it has not realized the corresponding supply and demand. ” Recently, on the steel industry chain strategic development and investment summit,the president assistant Chen changyu of China Shipping Industry Guild thus evaluated the current supply situation of ship steel.
Chen changyu pointed out, “Currently, China can only actualize autarky in the common ship plate. As to high additional value steel plates including special ship plate, super wide and long and thin ship plate, wide and thick plate, large ball flat steel, T steel, non-equilateral and unequal thickness angle steel ,other profiles , high quality steel pipes, etc, chinese steel enterprises have not satisfied the domestic shipbuilding demand. In other words, ship steel has not realized the corresponding supply and demand.
In the future, the domestic shipbuilding steel will present the following trend:
1 .Large-sized vessel will use large-sized ship plate. The foreign countries generally adopt the steel plate’ width of 3.5m to 4.5m, even more than 4.5m. As to the length, they use the steel of 22m to 24m, a part of 26m and the special dimension under the customers’ demand.
2.The higher demand of anticorrosion capability and life time of ship coating must ensure the structural safety of ship body.Along with last year the international new coating standard of ballast tank, it was definite that the demand and standard of ship plate coating have brought into the ship’ classification conditions.
3 .In the aspect of profiles, the shipyards will increase the demand of ball flat steel, non-equilateral and unequal thickness angle steel ,all of which feature large-sized, high quality, high corrosion resistance.
