Before powder spraying, the workpiece to be coated needs to undergo necessary pre-treatment, such as oil removal, rust removal, silane treatment, and water washing. If necessary, polishing and sandblasting may also be necessary to improve the coating adhesion strength. Only workpieces that have undergone reliable pre-treatment can ensure uniform film thickness and firm adsorption of the coating. After the spraying is completed, the sprayed workpiece needs to be sent to the oven for baking within a certain period of time, so that the powder coating can form a complete coating film according to different process requirements after being heated. Common curing methods include hot air circulation and thermal radiation baking.

The main components of powder spraying system

     A set of electrostatic powder spraying system mainly consists of a powder room, powder supply equipment, one or several sets of electrostatic spray guns and control devices, an electrostatic generator, and a set of powder recovery equipment.

Powder spraying room
 
The walls of the powder spraying room are made of stainless steel plates, which are sturdy and durable; The airflow distribution in the spraying room is optimized and designed based on aerodynamic principles, effectively preventing powder overflow and achieving a relatively stable airflow field in the spraying area, minimizing the interference of the airflow formed by the exhaust on the spraying process.
 
Powder supply system
 
In the powder supply equipment, the powder is in a fluidized state, which is achieved through the action of compressed air. Afterwards, the powder is carried by the flowing airflow through siphoning, forming a mixture of powder and air. It passes through a Venturi or HDLV powder pump, powder conveying pipe, and finally reaches the spray gun.
The powder conveyed to the spray gun can be adjusted, specifically by adjusting the parameters of the gas delivery volume and atomization pressure separately, changing the powder output and atomization state, thereby achieving different coating thicknesses and meeting the needs of different products. The powder supply device must have sufficient capacity to provide sufficient pressure and flow even if the powder delivery pipe of the spray gun is 50 feet long.
 
Spray gun
 
The structural design of the spray gun must meet the charging requirements of the powder, and the functional design must meet the spraying requirements of various forms of spraying operations and various shapes of workpieces. The coating performance of powder spraying is superior to that of spray painting technology in terms of mechanical strength, adhesion, corrosion resistance, aging resistance, etc., and the cost is also lower than that of spray painting with the same effect.
 
Drying (curing) room
 
The drying room can be structurally divided into straight through drying rooms and bridge or π type drying rooms. In order to reduce the pollution caused by hot gas overflow in the workshop and the waste of energy consumption; Usually, the powder drying (curing) chamber adopts a bridge structure due to its high temperature; The dehydration drying room can choose a straight through or bridge structure, and the straight through drying room needs to be equipped with air curtains or electric doors at the inlet and outlet to reduce hot air leakage.
